Miami based singer-songwriter Derik Fein has joined the charge by donating proceeds from all downloads of his ‘Fast Life’ single to benefit those affected by the natural disasters in Puerto Rico. It’s not often that you see so many people and communities coming together as it could sometimes feel like not enough is being done to help those in need. Music for a cause sounds more beautiful than you would think. Derik is a perfect blend of old school charm with new school suave. He channels retro vibes so desperately missing in our current music landscape. His soulful voice paired with his boy next door good looks is reminiscent of the motion picture stars of the 50’s.
Derik is a self-funded indie artist striving to make it in on his own terms in this cut-throat industry. He founded Modern Diversity Records and the single Fast Life is his first solo project under his own label. Derik is working with what he has and shot the Fast Life video entirely on an iPhone 7 which made its debut on his 25th birthday this weekend. Fast Life is available for download on all major streaming sites (Spotify and iTunes) and check out the Fast Life video on YouTube. You will even spot Deriks adorable french bulldog, Elvis Cash in the video as he is rarely too far away from Derik.
Yet what is most impressive and I can say this as I have witnessed it first hand is that he is motivated by his good will and noble heart. Deciding to donate any profit at all when records sales are dwindling and mainstream media seems to elevate those highly auto-tuned one-hit wonders is admirable. Derik hopes that this sparks a movement and motivates more people to use their platform for good. To support you can download ‘Fast Life’ aqui! #MusicForACause
