Over The Knee Boots // Botas Sobre La Rodilla

Just when I thought that winter had officially moved in, we get days like this where it’s unseasonably warm.  I try to enjoy the opportunity by not leaving the house looking like Kenny from South Park (if you don’t know who I am speaking of… google it ahora!) instead, being the sensible woman that I am, add tights underneath a shirt dress.  I always wondered how girls pull off the shirtdress look – and I learned that you must wear it with confidence and style it correctly.

The key to looking ‘put together’ in a shirt dress is to pair it with over the knee boots.  Every fashionista can attest to the fact that over the knee boots add instant edge and sex appeal to any look.  While I admire the gusto and style of gals like Leandra Medine of The Man Repeller – I’d like to not repel my husband with my outfit choices and celebrate my femininity (not that she doesn’t! – we all have our own way of doing it).   I scoured the earth this year for the coveted Stuart Weitzman ‘Highland’ boots and use every opportunity I can to put an outfit together with these babies.

Beyond glamour, sex appeal and style – these are the perfect over the knee boots because they are beyond comfortable. There is something about the position of the arch that doesn’t kill my feet by hour 2 (I have worn these on multiple occasions for the entire day).  Honestly, they also go with just about anything!  I’m wearing navy stripes, black stockings, a bomber and a gunmetal clutch and yet somehow the boots brings the look together.  Now if I can only get my hands on the black suede!
